Saint Maria of the Head

    Uceda, Guadalajara-Spain is where Saint Maria was born. However, she grew up in Torrelaguna. When she was there, she met her husband Saint Isidore. Her feast day is on September 9th but it is usually celebrated on May 15th because of her husband. Her job was a housewife to Isidore, she also helped him build wells and clean the local chapel. Her exact years of birth and death are unknown, however when she died her head was a famous relic and was in the Fransiscan convent in Torrelaguna. However her body was moved to Saint Andrew Church to be placed next to her husband. Saint Maria always sought out humble tasks, and did small things, such as, cleaning or building, with a great love.
    Well known traits of Maria are Purity, Modesty, Staying faithful to her husband, and her great devotion to God.
